Serving the mankind : Promoting & Caring for senior citizens

Comfort. Security. Connection.

The Elderly Care Society, established in 2023, builds on a pioneering initiative begun in 2008–2009 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya to promote geriatric care and education in Sri Lanka.

Our Vision

The Elderly Care Society envisions a community where older adults are empowered to live independently, actively, and with dignity, within age-friendly environments that value, respect, and celebrate ageing as an important stage of life.

Our Mission

The Elderly Care Society is committed to promoting healthy, active, and independent ageing by providing education, advocacy, and community support for older adults. We aim to foster age-friendly environments and positive societal attitudes that respect, value, and empower older people to live fulfilling lives with dignity.

Our Strategy

Our effort is collaborative and inclusive, bringing together individuals of various ages, well-wishers, governmental and non-governmental organisations, and both local and international contributors who share our vision. Our strategy is multifaceted and addresses every aspect of ageing – and its challenges to ensure consistently high standard of quality and well-being for older adults.
